Japanese Antique Bronze Vase with Frog
A small bronze vase shaped as a modified gourd beautifully modeled in moriage technique. On this lovely piece, vines and worm-bitten leaves attract the attention of a perfectly-formed tree frog as it makes its way up the side of the vase. (The toad, or frog, is symbolic of rain, good luck and persistence in Japanese culture.) Silver signature of Eiryu on base. This elegant and minimalistic vase is in excellent condition and includes its original tomobako. Height: 7.1”, width: 3.35” Meiji Period, Japan
